Since 2017, Puerto Rico has struggled through two hurricanes, Irma and Maria, as well as the 2020 earthquakes. As a result, efforts to recover, rebuild, and plan for a safer future have been the primary focus. The Central Office of Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience (COR3) “…ensures that the Government of Puerto Rico successfully undertakes reconstruction efforts with efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency, while capitalizing on opportunities to build back in a way that makes Puerto Rico better, stronger, and more resilient.”
Last month, DCMC Partners were engaged by COR3 to provide technical assistance and support in the implementation and management of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funds. This important work ensures that municipalities and agencies are good stewards of the dollars, by focusing efforts on building a more resilient future for Puerto Rico. Responsibilities of DCMC include reinforcing the work of the HMGP team for the development of formal proposals that will be submitted to FEMA, reviewing proposals that were submitted sub-applicants to COR3 to ensure they comply with all requirements, and assisting in the review of mitigation plans, among others.
DCMC Partners joined forces with The Lemoine Company in the fall of 2020, when Lemoine secured a significant financial interest in the disaster recovery firm.
